The shape of the agreement.

By creating an EmotiVault account or using the service, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

EmotiVault is a longitudinal AI journalling companion. Its features include the Aurelia chat, your personal journal, the patterns view, and the Echoes time-capsule. Aurelia is an AI — not a human, and not a medical or mental-health professional. She is a supportive companion, not a substitute for therapy.

You must be at least 13 years old to use EmotiVault. Users aged 13–17 should have parental awareness; we apply additional safeguards (more conservative crisis defaults, adapted retention) to these accounts. The service is not designed for or directed at children under 13.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity on your account. Notify us promptly at security@emotivault.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You agree NOT to:

• Use EmotiVault to harass, harm, or impersonate others
• Post hateful, threatening, or illegal content on Echoes
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract our data or models
• Bypass rate limits, safety controls, or moderation systems
• Use the service for commercial purposes without our written consent

Repeat or severe breaches result in account suspension or termination.

You can cancel anytime in /billing. Refunds within the first 14 days of a new annual subscription are issued by default; monthly subscriptions are not refunded but cancel at the end of the current cycle.

If you subscribe via Apple App Store or Google Play in the future, billing is handled by those stores and governed by their respective terms.

You retain copyright in everything you write — journal entries, Echoes posts, conversations. By using the service, you grant EmotiVault a non-exclusive licence to store, display, and process that content solely to provide the service to you.

EmotiVault owns the platform itself: Aurelia’s personality and responses, the user interface, the brand, and all underlying software.

EmotiVault is not a medical service. Aurelia is an AI and may occasionally produce incorrect or unhelpful responses. Nothing she says is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If you are in crisis, please call 999 in an emergency, the Samaritans on 116 123 (free, any hour), or text SHOUT to 85258.

Echoes posts pass through automated pre-screening for safety concerns. We may remove content that breaks the community guidelines and suspend accounts for repeated breaches. Severe breaches (threats, doxing, illegal content) result in permanent removal and may be reported to authorities where required by law.

You may delete your account at any time from /you. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Account deletion erases all your content within 30 days, in line with UK GDPR Article 17.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is communicated in-app.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EmotiVault is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud where such exclusion is unlawful.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
